The Instrument Rating program is designed for individuals holding a Private Pilot Certificate. The program can be joined immediately after completion of the Private Pilot Training, there is no minimum time requirement other than what is required for the Private Pilot Certificate.
Complete package for the Instrument Rating is $6,950.00 and can be completed in as little as ten days, although your schedule requirements and preferred pace of learning will determine the total time required.
The package includes:
35 hours of airplane time
10 hours of simulator (PCATD)
Unlimited ground school
Initial check ride fee
Basic study materials and forms
Prerequisites:
Private Pilot License
30 hours cross country as PIC
Instrument written exam

Experience Requirements to receive an Instrument Rating:
Total Time: Must have logged the following:
At least 50 hours of cross-country flying as a PIC, of which at least 10 hours must be in
airplanes for an Instrument Airplane rating; and
Total of 40 hours of actual or simulated instrument time on the Instrument areas of
operation, that includes at least—
Dual: 15 hours of instrument training with an instructor in the aircraft category, that
includes at least:
3 hours of the instrument training were within the preceding 60 days prior to the
practical test; and
1 IFR cross-country flight of more than 250 nm in the instrument-aircraft rating sought.
